Lamb Bottle Feeding
Due to our site under going major construction works for our new coffee shop and restaurant build, we have made the disappointing but sensible decision to not host our lamb bottle feeding sessions at Spring Lane Farm in 2025.
Lamb Bottle Feeding 2025 - UPDATE
Regretfully we have decided not to host our lamb bottle feeding sessions at Spring Lane Farm in 2025.
We know this is the sensible thing to do to keep our animals and visitors safe while our site is under going major construction work.
We have tried to look at alternative means of offering the sessions in other buildings on our farm but sadly we cannot make it work this year. Our priority needs to be protecting the welfare of the animals in our care and the safety of any children and their families coming on to our site.
We are really sorry to disappoint everyone who has waited patiently and will miss the lambs this year, but we really hope everyone understands why we have come to make this difficult and disappointing decision.
Fingers crossed we will be in a much better position to offer lamb bottle feeding in 2026!
We’ll be keeping you up to date with our Coffee Shop Restaurant build progress so we can all get excited about homemade food and patiently wait to enjoy a coffee and cake this summer!

What is a Cade Lamb?
Cade lambs are orphans lambs where the mother sheep has given birth to triplets or quads. Ewes (female sheep) only have 2 teats so they can only comfortably feed 2 lambs.
Where possible, we take any of these extra lambs and try to match them up with a ewe who has only given birth to 1 lamb. If there’s no ewes available we keep the extra lambs together in a little crèche and bottle feed them so they’re still getting the same amount of milk as the other lambs would who are still with their mothers.
In very rare circumstances where sadly the mother has died during birth, her lambs may also have to come in to the bottle feeding crèche! 🐑🍼😊
